What is Steal An Egg?

Steal An Egg is a free Roblox game in which you sneak eggs away from giant guardian animals, carry them back to your base and hatch them into pets that earn money every second. You spend that money on treadmill and base upgrades, train Speed to reach rarer zones, and steal eggs from other players along the way. Each server holds up to 7 players.

The game is published by the Roblox group "and Collect Rare Pets" and went live on July 25, 2026. When we checked its Roblox page on October 13, 2026, it showed about 1.46 million players online, over 7.8 billion visits, 7.6 million favorites and a 92% like rate from about 3.76 million votes. These numbers come from Roblox's public game data and change constantly.

How to Play Steal An Egg

  1. 1Open the official Steal An Egg page on roblox.com and press Play. If the Roblox app isn't installed yet, Roblox asks you to install it first.
  2. 2You spawn at your base. Head into the Forest, the only zone with no Speed requirement.
  3. 3Walk up to an egg and press E to pick it up (on mobile, tap the on-screen prompt).
  4. 4Run home before the guardian catches you. If you are too slow for a zone, the guardian can ragdoll you and make you drop the egg.
  5. 5Place the egg in your pen to hatch it. Hatch time depends on the egg; size and mutations can make it longer, and rare eggs can take hours.
  6. 6Pets earn money every second. Spend it on treadmill and base upgrades, then train on the treadmill to raise your Speed.
  7. 7Use the extra Speed to unlock the next zone and its rarer eggs. Watch your base: other players can steal your eggs, and you can steal theirs.

Why Is Steal An Egg So Popular?

The loop is short and easy to read: grab, run, hatch, earn, get faster. Every zone has a bigger guardian and a better egg, so each Speed upgrade opens something new to chase.

Other players make it unpredictable. Your eggs can be stolen, and a bat hit or a bear trap makes a rival drop the egg they are carrying, so a farming game turns into chases and close escapes.

Its numbers are huge for a game this new. Player.One reported on September 9, 2026 that trackers showed roughly 1.3 million concurrent players, ahead of Brookhaven RP and Blox Fruits at the time. It still had about 1.46 million players online when we checked on October 13.

It also survived a brief takedown. The game went offline on August 24, 2026 at about 22:21 UTC, and the developer announced its return at 01:44 UTC on August 25. Roblox gave no public reason. When the game came back, the treadmill's AI short-video "Reels" feed had been removed, and press reports say Roblox then tightened its rules on games that reward players for scrolling video feeds.

Quick Start Tips for Beginners

  • Claim the free rewards first: like and favorite the game and join the developer's group (guides report 10,000 Speed), and collect the Index reward for every new pet.
  • Speed is the stat that matters. Base upgrades add pet storage, not Speed, so put early money into the treadmill (early guides list $1,000 to unlock it) and train whenever you can.
  • Don't enter a zone below its Speed requirement. The guardian will catch you and you will drop the egg.
  • Watch the guardian's path before you grab an egg, and take the shortest route home.
  • Eggs respawn on a timer, reported as every five minutes in August 2026, and the map closes for a few seconds during the reset. Be near the eggs when it reopens.
  • Check mutation and size before selling a pet. A Golden Giant earns 2.5 × 3 = 7.5 times its base income, and a Rainbow Huge earns 17.5 times.
  • Sell pets you no longer need at the Sell Shop to free space, after checking the Index.
  • Skip scripts and exploits. They break Roblox's rules and can get your account banned from the game and the platform.
