What is Krillion?

Krillion is a free daily trivia game played in the browser at krillion.io. Every day everyone gets the same seven prompts, such as "Name a hotel brand" or "Name an item of winter clothing", and has 25 seconds to answer each one. Any correct answer counts, but the less familiar it is, the more points it earns.

Each point sinks your diver 10 metres. A perfect day is 700 points, which takes you to the trench floor at 7,000 metres. Along the way the game shows real ocean landmarks, from the deepest scuba dive ever at 332 metres to the Titanic at 3,800 metres.

The game is made by a solo developer who goes by kp. Day #1 was July 16, 2026. The daily dive is free and has ads; Unlimited mode and themed packs cost $5 each, and any purchase removes ads site-wide. Browser Game Hub is not affiliated with Krillion or its developer.

How to Play Krillion

  1. 1Open krillion.io on a phone or computer and tap Begin Descent. No account is needed.
  2. 2Read the prompt. You get a 3-second preview, then 25 seconds on the clock.
  3. 3Type one answer and press Dive. If the game doesn't accept it, you see "no echo" and can try again while time remains.
  4. 4Your first accepted answer ends the round. It lands in a tier from Plankton (10 points) to One in a Krillion (100 points), and every point sinks you 10 metres.
  5. 5If the timer runs out, the round scores 0 and shows as ⬛ in your result.
  6. 6After seven prompts you see your score, your depth, how many other players gave each of your answers and how you compare with today's players.
  7. 7Copy or share your emoji result. A new dive starts at midnight US Eastern time, and there is one dive per day.

Tier names, points and score bands are taken from krillion.io as of October 12, 2026. Tiers are set by the developer in advance, not by a live vote: the official FAQ says rarity comes from a familiarity database of how often a word turns up in what people read and write, or from LLM help plus a manual pass.

Where to Find Rarer Answers

  • Brands and companies

    Everyone says

The example in the prompt · The market leader · Whatever you used last

    Try instead

Regional chains, boutique or luxury sub-brands owned by a big group, and brands from other countries that are still well known at home.

  • Countries and places

    Everyone says

The largest or most famous one · Your own country · The one in the news

    Try instead

Small or landlocked countries, island nations, places with tricky spellings, and the second or third city of a country rather than its capital.

  • Animals and nature

    Everyone says

Pets and farm animals · The example in the prompt · The first zoo animal you think of

    Try instead

Specific species instead of the general group, deep-sea and insect life, and proper anatomy terms instead of everyday words.

  • Everyday objects and clothing

    Everyone says

The item you are wearing · The generic word for the category

    Try instead

Specialist or historical versions, items named after a place or person, and the trade name for something people usually describe loosely.

  • Work, apps and online features

    Everyone says

The prompt's own example · The biggest app in the space · The button you click most

    Try instead

Back-office teams and job functions, older or niche services, and settings or features buried in menus.

Krillion Strategy: Our Dive, Answer by Answer

We played the daily dive on October 12, 2026 (Dive #89) and wrote down every result. The player counts come from the game's own results screen, which shows how many other players gave the same answer.

What This Dive Teaches

  • Fewer matches does not guarantee a higher tier. Super Chat was shared by only 719 other players and still scored Schooler, while Kyrgyzstan was shared by 13,653 and scored Rare. Tiers come from the developer's familiarity data, not from today's player counts.
  • The first answer that comes to mind is usually Plankton. Glassdoor sits right next to the prompt's own example, LinkedIn, and Gills is the textbook answer to the animal prompt.
  • Misses cost the most. One wrong submission on the hotel prompt scored 0, more than any low tier would have cost. Our total was 170 points (1,700 m), better than 6% of that day's players.

Krillion Unlimited, Archive and Themed Packs

The daily dive is the free mode: seven prompts, the same for everyone, once per day. A new dive starts at midnight US Eastern time.

Unlimited, which the game calls The Endless Dive, is the official way to keep playing after your daily dive. It is a $5 unlock on krillion.io, and any purchase also removes ads across the site.

The Archive lets you replay earlier daily dives on the official site. When we checked on October 12, 2026, past dives were locked behind a purchase.

Themed packs add prompt sets on a single topic: Movies, Sports, Geography and Lexicon, at $5 each.

Sites calling themselves "Krillion Unlimited" or "Krillion but Endless" are third-party copies with their own prompts and scoring, not the official game. The official FAQ warns about copycat clones.

It flips normal trivia. Instead of one right answer, almost anything correct works, and the challenge is finding the answer nobody else thought of. Seeing "15,047 other players chose this" next to your pick makes the point fast.

It takes about three minutes. Seven prompts with a 25-second clock fit into a coffee break, and everyone plays the same dive, so results are easy to compare.

The ocean theme gives every score a picture. 170 points becomes 1,700 metres, past giant squid territory; 700 points reaches the trench floor. The emoji result is easy to share without spoiling answers.

Quick Start Tips for Beginners

  • Skip your first idea. The game's own rules say the pick that feels clever is often one the whole school thought of too, which is what the Too Clever tier (15 points) is for.
  • Avoid the example in the prompt and its closest rivals. In our October 12 dive, the prompt-adjacent pick Glassdoor scored Plankton, with 15,047 other players choosing it.
  • Fewer players does not always mean a higher tier. Our Super Chat answer was shared by only 719 other players but still scored Schooler, because tiers come from the developer's familiarity data, not from today's votes.
  • Spend about 15 seconds thinking and leave time to type. A typo can match a different accepted answer through autocorrect, and a missed timer scores 0.
  • A safe answer beats a miss. Even Plankton is worth 10 points and 100 metres; a blank round is worth nothing.
  • Check spelling on long names. Accepted answers include aliases, so a close spelling often works, but the official FAQ notes odd alias matches can happen.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What is Krillion?

Krillion is a free daily trivia game at krillion.io. Everyone gets the same seven prompts each day and 25 seconds per prompt. Rarer correct answers score more points and sink your diver deeper in the ocean.

How is Krillion scored?

Each accepted answer lands in one of six tiers: Plankton (10 points), Too Clever (15), Schooler (30), Rare (60), Deep Cut (85) or One in a Krillion (100). A missed prompt scores 0. Seven prompts give a maximum of 700 points.

How deep can you go in Krillion?

Every point sinks you 10 metres, so the maximum is 7,000 metres for a perfect 700-point dive. The game calls that depth the trench floor.

How much time do I get per prompt?

25 seconds, after a 3-second preview of the prompt. If the timer runs out before an answer is accepted, the prompt scores 0.

Can I change my answer after submitting?

No. Your first accepted answer ends the round and is scored straight away. Only answers the game rejects can be followed by another try.

What happens if my answer is not accepted?

The game shows "no echo. try again" and you can type another answer while time remains. The official FAQ says a fair answer can be missing when a source was missed, and that autocorrect also checks aliases.

Does capitalization matter in Krillion?

No. In our test, typing "balaclava" and "gills" in lower case was accepted and shown as Balaclava and Gills.

Can I play Krillion on mobile?

Yes. Krillion runs in the browser, so you can play it on a phone or a computer without installing anything. The official FAQ says an app is planned.

Is there a Krillion leaderboard?

The official site has a Friends page for comparing with people you invite, and the results screen shows how your score ranks against everyone who played that day. As of October 12, 2026, we found no public global leaderboard.

What does "Too Clever" mean in Krillion?

The official FAQ describes Too Clever as the go-to "obscure" pick that isn't actually obscure. It is worth 15 points, only slightly more than Plankton.

How does Krillion decide which answers are rare?

According to the official FAQ, answer sets are built from dictionaries, wiki pages and encyclopedias. Some prompts are scored against a familiarity database of how often a word appears in what people read and write; others use LLM help and a manual pass. The One in a Krillion gem is also chosen for being fun to land on.

When does the daily Krillion reset?

A new dive starts at midnight US Eastern time (America/New_York). There is one daily dive per day.

Where can I find today's Krillion answers?

Krillion does not publish its answer sheets, so we don't list daily answers. After you finish, the results screen shows how many other players gave each of your answers. Use the tips and answer ideas on this page to aim for rarer picks.

Is there a Krillion Unlimited mode?

Yes. The official site has Unlimited, called The Endless Dive, as a $5 unlock. It also sells $5 themed packs such as Movies, Sports, Geography and Lexicon. Other "Krillion Unlimited" sites are third-party copies, not the official game.

Can I play past Krillion dives?

Yes. The official site has an Archive section where you can replay earlier daily dives.

Is Krillion free?

The daily dive is free and supported by ads. Unlimited and themed packs are optional purchases; any purchase removes ads across the site.

Do I need an account to play Krillion?

No. You can play the daily dive without signing up. Linking a Google account is optional and keeps your purchases and progress on other devices.

Who made Krillion?

A solo developer who uses the pseudonym kp. The official FAQ warns that other people have claimed to be the creator.
