What is Cork7?

Cork7 is a free 3D freeski game that runs in the browser at cork7.com. You take a lift to the top of a terrain park, ski down through kickers, rails and powder, and score points for every trick you land: spins, flips, corks, grabs, rail slides and butters. The name is skier slang for a cork 720, two off-axis spins, and the game lets you throw that and much bigger tricks with a keyboard or a controller.

The game is made by Johansen & Co., a sole proprietorship registered in Trondheim, Norway. It started in September 2026 under the name Whiteout, became Cork7 on September 16 and has been updated almost every day since. It is not affiliated with SSX, EA, X Games or Red Bull, and Browser Game Hub is not affiliated with Cork7.

When we played on October 24, 2026, the map had six parks, Season 02 was running until November 17 with POW prizes for the top ten, and snowboards had just arrived next to skis. You can ride solo as a guest; a free account adds multiplayer rooms, 1v1s, the Locker, the leaderboard and the Season Pass.

How to Play Cork7

  1. 1Open cork7.com on a laptop or desktop with an up-to-date browser (it needs WebGL 2). You land in Basecamp, the lobby. Solo is picked by default and needs no account.
  2. 2Press RIDE (or Enter) and pick a park on the map. The Yard is the default open-session park; Big Air is a single giant kicker and the quickest place to learn tricks.
  3. 3You start on the gondola or drag lift. Press F to skip the ride and start at the top.
  4. 4Hold W to tuck and gain speed, steer with A and D, and brake with S. Kickers launch you on their own; hold Space before the lip and release it to pop higher.
  5. 5In the air, hold A or D to spin, W or S to flip, and Shift, Q or E to grab. Let go before you come down so the rider opens up, and land with the skis pointing straight down the hill.
  6. 6Chain jumps and rails into a line and land it on the snow to bank the points. A crash loses the whole line. Hold R for 2 seconds to restart from the top.
  7. 7Cross the finish to see your score split into tricks, grabs, rails and landings. Watch the replay, save it or export a clip, or press Ride again.

Why Is Cork7 So Popular?

It is a real freeski game with no download and no sign-up to start: open a link and you are on the snow in under a minute. The tricks use real names and are judged on what the rider actually did, so a cork, a bio, a rodeo and a misty all read differently.

There is a lot of game for something that started in September 2026: six parks, live rooms with other riders, friendly and ranked 1v1s, replays with clip export, controller support and a Mac and Windows app.

Seasons keep players coming back. Season 02 has fresh leaderboards for The Yard, APEX and Big Air, POW prizes for the top ten on each and a 100-level Season Pass you can only climb three levels a day at full speed.

Quick Start Tips for Beginners

  • Learn tricks on Big Air. It is one huge kicker with about five seconds of air, so you can try a spin, flip and grab on every run and restart quickly.
  • Hold W all the way down the inrun. Tucking is how you reach top speed, and speed is what gives you the air time for 720s and 1080s.
  • Set the spin and the flip together at the lip. A spin with S becomes a cork; a spin added later only tilts the flip.
  • Let go of every key before landing. Holding a spin or flip into the snow turns a clean landing into a sideways one or a crash, and a crash loses the whole line.
  • Don't repeat the same trick. The same trick within your last three airs pays 75%, then 55%, then 40%; spin the other way or ride switch to get full points again.
  • Hold a grab for a full second. It counts after 0.25 s, but the bonus only reaches ×1.25 at one second.
  • If the frame rate drops, open Settings → Graphics and choose Performance, and make sure hardware acceleration is on in your browser.
  • Replays live only in this browser: the last five runs save automatically. Press Save replay or export a clip before clearing browser data.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Is Cork7 free?

Yes. The game is free to play in the browser and as a Mac and Windows app, with no ads. You can buy POW, the in-game currency, for cosmetic items and the Season Pass. Its terms say items only change how the rider looks, never how well they ride.

Is there a Cork7 download?

Yes, at cork7.com/download: version 1.0.4 for Mac (macOS 13 or later, Apple silicon 130 MB or Intel 136 MB, notarised by Apple) and Windows (10 or 11, 64-bit, 112 MB). It is the same game in its own window, with the same account and leaderboard, and it updates itself. You don't need it to play: the browser version is the full game.

Is Cork7 on Nintendo Switch?

No. Cork7 runs in a web browser and as an app for Mac and Windows; there is no Switch, PlayStation or Xbox version. You can connect an Xbox or PlayStation controller to your computer and play with it.

Can I play Cork7 on my phone?

Yes, in the phone or tablet browser with on-screen touch controls; phones start in Performance graphics mode. The downloadable app is for Mac and Windows only. The developer recommends a laptop or desktop with a keyboard, and performance depends on your device.

Do I need an account to play Cork7?

Not to ride solo. A free account is needed for multiplayer rooms, 1v1s, the Locker (rider customization), friends, leaderboard scores and the Season Pass. Without an account your personal best and replays are saved only in that browser.

How does Cork7 multiplayer work?

Pick Multiplayer in Basecamp, press RIDE and choose a park to join a live room with other riders; a new room opens by itself when one gets busy. Press T to chat and hold Tab to see everyone on the mountain. Add friends to see where they ride and join their room.

How do 1v1s work in Cork7?

Challenge a friend or the room on APEX, Big Air, Forest Line or Aspen Pipe. You take turns dropping while the other watches live, two runs each, and the best run wins. Ranked 1v1 (beta, on APEX) matches you with a rider near your level; five ranked matches place you in Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum or Diamond.

Who made Cork7?

Johansen & Co., a sole proprietorship registered in Trondheim, Norway, which also delivers the POW sold through Stripe's Link. The game uses Three.js for 3D, and its soundtrack is licensed music by | e s c p |, KV and Lesion X; Quasarise is a song by | e s c p |, not the developer.

Is Cork7 safe for kids?

Solo play needs no account and has no chat. In multiplayer, chat is filtered for crude language, links and contact details, you can mute or report any rider, and reports are reviewed within 24 hours. The terms ask players under 13 to get a parent's permission before creating an account.

Is Cork7 the same as Shredsauce?

No. Shredsauce is a different browser ski and snowboard game. Cork7 is an independent game by Johansen & Co. with its own parks, accounts and leaderboards.

Why is Cork7 lagging or not loading?

Use an up-to-date browser with hardware acceleration on; the game needs WebGL 2. If the first download stalls, press Reload game on the loading screen. For a low frame rate, choose Performance under Graphics in Settings or cap the game at 30 fps.
