SCROOMS Instruments: Every Price, Stat and What to Buy Next

Updated

Instruments are your fishing rods in SCROOMS. Their stats decide how easy the catch mini-game is and how often rare Scrooms appear, and Resonance decides which Scrooms can appear at all. Each area sells its own set, and some are quest rewards.

Short version: Violin of Pilgrimage in the grove, Blackwood Fiddle and Deepchord in Bluestone Caverns, nothing in Sorin's Respite, Soaring Tone and Magus' Requiem in Sanctum Magus, then save for the Ballad of Three Reigns in Tall Trees.

Which instrument to buy next

In Songkeeper's Grove, go Tamer's Guitar (100) → Adventurer's Tambourine (750) → Violin of Pilgrimage (4,500). The Violin's +40% Luck is five times the Tambourine's and eight times the Guitar's. Dimstra recommends skipping Elanor's Floral Flute, which has less Luck at the same Resonance, and Fenna's Forest Spirit's Lyre, so you can bank Chimes for the next area.

In Bluestone Caverns, save for the Blackwood Fiddle (9,500) instead of the Prospector's Lute (5,000). According to Dimstra, the Lute's Resonance III only reaches the Commons and Uncommons there, while the Fiddle's Resonance IV reaches every Scroom in the caverns. Then save 16,000 for the Deepchord: later quests need it, and its star passive speeds up hard catches.

Sorin's Respite instruments are optional. Beebzs and Dimstra both clear the area with what they already had and advise banking Chimes for Sanctum Magus. Buy the Stillwater Flute (24,000) only if you want its +110% Luck.

In Sanctum Magus, buy the Soaring Tone (35,000, needs level 60) over the Runed Horn (32,000): for 3,000 more you get a much wider catch zone (+18% Precision). Then finish Iblis's quests for the Magus' Requiem, which Dimstra used to clear Tall Trees.

In Tall Trees, Dimstra recommends saving straight for the Ballad of Three Reigns (160,000, level 88 plus the Crooked Chime quest line) and buying the Heartwood Drum (110,000, +200% Luck) afterwards.

How Resonance limits what you can catch

Every Scroom has a frequency range on its Index card, and every instrument has a top frequency set by its Resonance. If a Scroom's range starts above your instrument's top frequency, it never appears for you, no matter how lucky you are. Check the Index range before you farm a Scroom for a quest.

According to Beebzs's video, Resonance IV instruments such as the Lotus Hymn reach about 900 Hz, Resonance V instruments such as Sorin's Last Verse about 1.3k Hz, and the Soaring Tone and Autumn's Grace about 2.2k Hz, which covers the 1.9k Hz Eversung Scrooms.

Prices in Chimes, matching in at least two of: the SCROOMS Fandom wiki, AllThings. How, and the guide videos by Beebzs (Oct 11, 2026) and Dimstra (Oct 13), checked October 24, 2026. Stats are as printed on the instrument cards: the four shop and starter instruments in the grove are confirmed by AllThings. How; other stats come from the Fandom wiki, or from Beebzs's video for Sorin's Last Verse and the Soaring Tone. Instrument Passives

InstrumentPassive
Forest Spirit's Lyre25% chance to add a green weather mutation that doubles the Scroom's sell value
DeepchordStars appear while you keep the Scroom in the zone, each adding catch speed (about +12% over three stars); a star is lost if the Scroom is outside the zone when it pops. Can also add the Runic mutation (1.5x)
Sorin's Last VerseWhen a catch fails, you get 25% progress back and one more chance
Magus' RequiemProgress starts 10% slower, then builds to 35% faster the longer you hold the zone; the boost fades while the Scroom is outside
Ballad of Three ReignsThree rotating effects: two speed up progress, one freezes the catch zone for 2-3 seconds

Passives as shown on the instrument cards in Dimstra's How to get Every Instrument video (October 13, 2026); the Magus' Requiem passive also matches the Fandom wiki.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best instrument in SCROOMS?

The Ballad of Three Reigns: +14% Precision, +58 Harmony, +140 Tension, +150% Luck, +20% Tune Speed, Resonance VI and three passives. It costs 160,000 Chimes and needs level 88 plus the Crooked Chime quest line in Tall Trees. The Heartwood Drum has more Luck (+200%) but slower tuning.

What is the best early instrument in SCROOMS?

The Violin of Pilgrimage from Jane's stall in Songkeeper's Grove for 4,500 Chimes. Its +40% Luck is five times the Adventurer's Tambourine's, the next best on the stall. Buy the Tamer's Guitar (100) and Adventurer's Tambourine (750) on the way.

How do you get the Deepchord?

Take Pell's quest in Bluestone Caverns, find the rocks marked with musical notes around the caverns, then solve the memory puzzle at the altar in the mine. The altar opens and you can buy the Deepchord for 16,000 Chimes. Owning it earns the Runestriker badge.

How do you get the Magus' Requiem?

Finish Iblis's quests in Sanctum Magus, then pay 32,000 Chimes to start the trial: release the monster in the sealed chamber, collect three keys and reach the exit. Completing it gives you the Requiem and The Magus' Heir badge.
