MW4 DMZ Missions: Orders, Story Missions, Ops and Bosses
Updated
DMZ in Modern Warfare 4 doesn't use the faction missions of the Modern Warfare II beta. Activision's guides describe four layers instead: DMZ Orders, guided directives that onboard you and tell the story; Story Missions you pick before deploying; Dynamic Operations you start before infil or from a phone in Hajin; and smaller Side Ops you find on the map. The enemy is a single "secretive North Korean faction".
On top of that sit the bosses (Lieutenants you can buy intel on, and roaming Commanders) and a PvP bounty system. Story Mission names below come from players' guides.

Deployment Types

|---|---|---|
| Story Mission | A set narrative mission inside one POI, played on a live server with other squads | Fixed by the mission |
| Dynamic Operation | A chosen objective; earns DMZ XP, DMZ Cash and a Supply Drop. Can also be started from a Dynamic Ops phone in Hajin | Ground (free) or paid |
| Free Roam | No set objective: loot, fight and exfil | Ground (free) or paid |

Bosses and Enemy Types
| Enemy | Type | What to know |

| Deathstalker | Commander (roaming boss) | Same as above; a captured SAM Site will target it |
| Main NK Battle Tank | Commander (roaming boss) | Same as above |

| NK soldiers, tiers 1–4 | AI infantry | From grunts to faceless armored soldiers; tier 3 wear gas masks |
| Drones and K9 quadrupeds | AI machines | Drone swarms, LMG drones, and robot dogs usually underground |

Bounties: Killers and Hunters
Killers
Killing rival operators raises your bounty across deployments. After four kills you become Wanted, and nearby operators are alerted when you come close. More kills raise you through several Wanted levels; at the top, your rough location can show on every player's map. If you die, your bounty and Wanted status are gone. Activision says the system also weighs who fired first and whether you were outnumbered.
Hunters
At a Bounty Station in Hajin you can see every Wanted operator in your deployment for free, and pay DMZ Cash for a shrinking circle around one of them; higher Wanted levels cost more. Kill them and exfil with their Dog Tag to collect the reward. The FOB's Bounty Leaderboard shows the Top 50 Most Wanted and Top 50 Bounty Hunters, updated weekly.
Frequently Asked Questions
Are there factions in MW4 DMZ?
Not like Modern Warfare II's DMZ. Activision's guides describe DMZ Orders, Story Missions and Ops instead of faction reputation, and the enemy is one North Korean faction.
How many Story Missions are in MW4 DMZ?
allthings.how reports six at launch. Five are named so far: Critical Extraction, Shopping Hacks, Grid Assault, Silent Ledger and Iron Citadel.
What do Dynamic Operations give you?
DMZ XP, DMZ Cash and a Supply Drop whose loot gets better each time you complete another Op in the same deployment.
How do you become Wanted in DMZ?
Kill four rival operators across deployments. Your bounty grows with more kills, nearby players are alerted when you're close, and you lose the bounty if you die.
